SHREVEPORT, La - "Keep God first in everything that you do."
That's what Calvary Baptist Academy senior, Evan Gibson says he's been doing since he started attending this school in the first grade.
"I try to give my all in all that I do. I work hard, I'm always trying to give a helping hand wherever I can and try to be a good friend to anyone who needs a friend."
Gibson maintains a 4.0 GPA and scored well on the ACT. He's also on Student Council, Beta Club and National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
"I just try to be a good example in everything that I do, because you never know who is watching. I want to make sure that when they see me I'm doing the right thing and they can go say, hey I want to do what he's doing. He's doing the right thing and I want to do the right thing as well."
Evan is also the starting center on Calvary's football team.
"We've had a very tough non district schedule, but we're in district right now, district play and I feel like we're going to have a very good season right now."
Right now the team has a 3-4 record but he advises his fellow players to always keep their heads up.
"Our losses are in the past. You can't do anything about it. We just need to fix small mistakes and get better from our loss, so we can bring home a win."
