SUSLA celebrates Women's History Month with Game Changing Women in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. - A panel of powerhouse women will gather to celebrate Women’s History Month at Southern University at Shreveport.

The celebration will take place from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. March 16.

The panel discussion will take place in the Jesse N. Stone Lecture Hall with the theme: “We Lead: Women as Game Changers.” As the title suggest, the discussion will focus on women who changed the rules of the game about success in their fields.

Sharing the panel will be District Judge, Honorable Shonda Stone; State Farm Insurance Agent, Katrina Early; Parish of Caddo CFO, Erica Bryant; YWCA Executive Director, Belinda Roberson; Caddo Parish Schools Transportation Supervisor, Virgin Rachal; and Caddo Parish School Board President, Mary Trammel.

Now, more than ever, women are at the helm of all things leadership; purposefully molding and forever altering the landscape of global society, says Sonya Hester, Faculty Senate President/Associate Professor of English at SUSLA and co-chairperson for this event.

This will be the second of a series of professional and leadership development forums on campus entitled SUSLA Engage.

This event is free and open to the public.
