Suspect accused of shooting business owner now in custody

MARSHALL, TX - The man wanted for his alleged role in the armed robbery of a Marshall business and shooting of a local business owner is now in custody.

Officers with the Shreveport Police Department arrested 26-year-old Christopher Kordelle Dumas, of Shreveport, on Tuesday, April 25. 

Dumas is facing numerous charges of armed robbery in Shreveport, and will also be charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault in Marshall for the incident that occurred at Boost Mobile back on April 1.

At approximately 3:56 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, MPD dispatch received a call regarding a robbery and shooting at Boost Mobile in the 700 block of E. Grand Avenue. 

It is believed that Dumas entered the store and attempted to rob the business. A business owner from a neighboring store heard the commotion and went to Boost Mobile to see what was happening. 

Shortly after entering the store, gunfire was exchanged between the business owner and Dumas. The business owner suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken a local hospital for treatment. He has since been released.

Dumas is currently incarerated at the Caddo Correctional Center in Louisiana. No bond has been set.
