Suspect behind bars in Waffle House Caper

Second suspect in early-Friday- morning armed robbery still at large

SHREVEPORT, La. - A Shreveport man is behind bars charged in connection with the early-morning armed robbery of a west Shreveport eatery, along with his role in the armed robbery of a liquor store on Friday. 

 

Cedric Johnson, 22, was arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail. 

                                            

Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Waffle House in the 9200 block of Mansfield Road at approximately 1:46 a.m. Friday.

 

Upon arrival, officers learned two male suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered the business with their faces covered and robbed the establishment at gunpoint.

 

The bandits made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and were last seen running out of the store on foot. No one was injured during this robbery.

 

Detectives immediately were dispatched and began investigating the crime.

 

Based on information gathered during their ongoing inquiry, investigators Johnson, of the 900 block of Montrose Drive in Shreveport, with one count of armed robbery with the firearm penalty enhancement. They didn't have far to go, as Johnson already was cooling his heels behind bars for his role in Friday's armed robbery of a Thrifty Liquor store southeast Shreveport.

 

Detectives are working to positively identify and apprehend Johnson’s accomplice in the Waffle House robbery.
