Task Force agents arrest Natchitoches Parish man on drug and weapons charges

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. - A Natchitoches Parish man is behind bars after authorities find meth and and a semi-automatic pistol inside his home.

Agents with the Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force arrested 29-year-old Zantari Smith on March 23 after they found him hiding inside a home in the 100 block of Cox St. in Campti.

Louisiana Probation and Parole agents were trying to contact Smith about violating conditions of his probation.

After authorities conducted a search of his home in the 100 block of Burl Pickett Rd. they drug paraphernalia, 

methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.   Agents also seized approximately more than $4,200 in cash.
Smith was booked to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center with no bond on the following charges:

  • 1 count possession CDS methamphetamine


  • Probation & Parole violation


  • 1 count possession of drug paraphernalia


  • 1 count possession of CDS I synthetic marijuana


  • 1 count possession of a Firearm in the presence of CDS


  • 1 count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
