DESOTO PARISH, La. - A Shreveport man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate-49 in DeSoto Parish.
Deputies working speed enforcement back on Feb. 14 I-49 conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 91 mph in the 75 mph posted zone.
After contact was made with the driver, Considine Shermin Williams Jr., 36, deputies saw what appeared to be a partially burnt marijuana cigarette.
Williams admitted to having smoked marijuana in the vehicle.
When narcotics investigators searched the vehicle they found over $3,000 in cash inside the console and more than 700 grams of marijuana in a duffle bag inside the trunk.
Williams was arrested and booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center for Speeding and Possession of Schedule I CDS with Intent to Distribute. His bond has been set at $75,000.
