Local members of Congress on train that crashed en route to GOP retreat

Train collided with trash truck; Congressional members are okay

NBC NEWS - A chartered train carrying Republican lawmakers to a retreat collided with a trash truck Wednesday morning, a congressman said.

Arkansas Congressman Bruce Westerman was on the train. He tweeted out that he was uninjured.


Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy was also on the train. He tweeted out that he and his wife are okay. 

Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert was also on the train. His staff says he's okay.

Texas Seantor Ted Cruz was also on the train. 


Arkansas Senator John Boozman was also on the train. He was not injured in the crash. 

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, Louisiana Senator John Kennedy, Texas Congressman John Ratcliffe, and Louisiana Congressmen Mike Johnson and Ralph Abraham were not on the train.

The train was carrying House and Senate Republicans to the retreat in West Virginia when it hit the truck. One person was killed in the crash.
