Walk for Humanity helps those in need in Africa

SHREVEPORT, LA - If you couldn't take Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport Saturday morning here's why.

Walkers and runners took it over to take part in the Walk for Humanity.

The Walk for Humanity serves as a fundraiser that supports the institute for global outreach providing programs that directly help people in poor, underdeveloped countries in Africa.

Organizers say this efforts brings needed items that we take for granted each day.

"There are so many children and families that don't have food, that don't have shelters and the bare necessities that we don't think about, they don't have" said Velma Kirksey-Tarver.

Tarver says they were able to reach this year's fundraising goal.
