The Bossier City Police Department and one of its officers are being honored for their efforts in keeping drunk drivers off the road.

Patrol Officer Steven Jones was recognized by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission for making 40 DWI arrests in 2013.

The Bossier City Department also received an award from the commission for tallying the highest number of DWI arrests by a municipal police department based on jurisdictional population.

In 2013 the Bossier City Police Department made a total 255 DWI arrests.

The awards were presented Tuesday during the annual LHSC DWI Enforcement Award Program Ceremony luncheon in Baton Rouge.
