A Marshall Texas family is still searching for answers after their loved one was left for dead on the side of the road.
The body of Sharon Leonard, 52, was found on February 22, by a neighbor on Scotts Quarter Road near Loop 390 around 10 p.m. The location was just blocks away from her home. Marshall Police said Leonard was last seen Friday evening.
The family said they will not have closure until they know who left her on the side of the road, and what happened before she died.
“I’m going to be lost because she was there for everybody,” said April Leonard, Sharon’s niece.
Authorities said there was no trauma to her body so they're not investigating her death as a homicide at this time. They're waiting on toxicology results so they can find the exact cause of death.
The family's main concern is who dumped her on the side of the road and why.
“I understand you may’ve panicked and everything, but you need to speak up and we need to speak up as a people instead of keeping secrets,” said Sharon’s sister Darlene Leonard.
If you have any information on her death, call Marshall Crime Stoppers (903) 935-9969.
The funeral for Sharon Leonard is Mar. 1 at 11 a.m. at Hayward Stanmore Funeral Home, 501 E. Austin St, Marshall, Texas.
The family will also dedicate a tree in front of their home Mar. 1 at 6 p.m.
