The Miller County Patriots are trying to recall the four who voted to rehire City Manager, Harold Boldt.
When the city voted to rehire Harold Boldt, and let him keep his severance pay, the Miller County Patriots say something didn't seem right.
"Ultimately it was the people's money that was spent," said President Richard Wagnon. "Think about it, the people of Texarkana, basically gave Harold Boldt $162,000 and then the city turned right around and hired him back?"
Now they're taking action, trying to remove the four who they say are responsible.
That includes: Ward 2 Laney Harris, Londell Williams (Ward 3), James Mike Jones (Ward 5) and Ward 6's Sue Johnson.
"It's the board's job to hold the City Manager accountable," said Executive Director Gregg Jones. "When things are done improperly, it's the citizens' job to manage the Board and hold them accountable at the ballot box."
The group plans to file recall petitions for each of the board members.
As of Tuesday, three had been turned in.
"When you have representatives, elected by the people, and they fail and ignore what the people want, we must go through the political process, and this is what's available to us," said Wagnon.
If approved, about 2,000 signatures will be needed, which could result in an election.
They say, they can do it.
"Let the people decide, that's all we're asking for," said Wagnon.
"It's time for Texarkana to move forward," said Jones.
If an election is held, the four board members would be allowed to run in it.
Channel 6 tried to reach them for comment, but no one chose to speak.
A forum is scheduled for September 30th at 6:30pm
It's open to the public and will be held at the Bobby Ferguson Pavilion.
