Just after 7:30am on July 24th, Shreveport Police responded to a major accident along a stretch of Interstate 49 south near the
When officers arrived, they learned that 23-year-old Anthony Carter of Shreveport, died at the scene from injuries he sustained after being ejected from his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.
Shreveport Police Crash Investigators launched an investigation into the matter.
Information and evidence gathered on site of the crash, suggest Carter, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car and left the roadway.
The vehicle, upon impact with the noise retaining wall, flipped numerous times before coming to rest on the shoulder of the interstate.
Crash investigators believe speed may have been a factor into what caused the crash.
While all crashes are not survivable, proper use of seat belts greatly reduce to chance of sustaining serious injury or death during many accidents.
