The Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation dedicated a multipurpose room to the late councilwoman Joyce Bowman today.
The room will be at the Bill Cockrell Community Center on Pines Road.
Bowman had a hand in the success of the center's programs.
Her husband says this is a great way to honor her work.
"I like people to think that she was for everybody and not for herself. She didn't do nothing for show she was very dedicated to the people," says Jerry Bowman.
A community garden was also dedicated to J.D. Hudson Jr., who was a S.P.A.R. volunteer for more than 20 years.
