In Natchitoches people gathered to celebrate the parish’s 300th birthday.

It's the oldest city in Louisiana and the oldest settlement from the Louisiana Purchase.

They're holding a yearlong celebration that reached its halfway point this weekend.

They held a festival on the campus of Northwestern State University.

Natchitoches was founded in 1714 along the banks of the Cane River.
