Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes and come dressed for business.
The event is being coducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Bossier and Shreveport Chambers, the office of the Bossier mayor, the Department of Veteran's Affairs, the American Legion, the Department of Labor Veterans' Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS), the Louisiana Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Louisiana Workforce Commission, NBC News and other local partners.
The U.S. Chamber conducts hundreds of job fairs each year through "Hiring Our Heroes," a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Hiring Our Heroes has seen success with more than 10,000 peoople securing jobs since its launch in 2011.
In addition to the job fair, Veteran/Military Spouse Workshops will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. in the Bodcau Room at the Bossier Civic Center.
