Authorities are investigating a late night crash that left a woman dead.
At approximately 11:36 p.m. on July 12, 2014, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to North Hearne Avenue just south of its intersection with Aero Drive relative to a major crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female who had apparently been struck by a vehicle there on North Hearne Avenue. The woman, whose name is not being released now pending appropriate notifications, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Crash investigators immediately responded to the scene and, based on information and evidence gathered during the early stages of their inquiry, believe the pedestrian was walking southbound in a lane of travel on North Hearne Avenue when she was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet operated by 34 year old Brian Wilson of Shreveport.
Wilson’s vehicle was traveling southbound at the time of the crash.
Wilson voluntarily submitted to routine tests for impairment and at this point investigators do not believe he was impaired in any way. Their investigation is ongoing at this hour.
