A gas leak in the 400 block of Marshall Street in downtown Shreveport temporarily closed the area to traffic on Thursday morning.

NBC 6 News crews at the scene report the closure took place between Travis and Texas Streets.

Owners of the Se7endipity Cafe tell NBC 6 News the leak was caused when a trash truck backed up into a gas meter at the back of their building.

Hazmat crews were called to the scene and the leak was repaired by CenterPoint Energy.

The roadway reopened to traffic around 7:40 a.m.

Se7endipity's owners tell NBC 6 News a similar incident took place a year ago at the same location. That incident too forced road closures.
