The Bossier City Sam's Club hosted a fundraising cookout event this morning. Although the doors of the club will not open until Thursday, Aug. 14, the associates wanted to give back to the community that has graciously welcomed Sam's Club. The club raised funds for the VFW with the purpose of helping veterans who receive services at the Overton Brooks VAMC, Shreveport, and VA Outpatient Clinics in Texarkana, Ark., Longview, Texas and Monroe, La. The funds will be used for clothing, toiletry items, transportation and recreational activities for veterans. In addition to the event, the club is also looking for associates to join the team.  The Hiring and Membership Center at Louisiana Boardwalk 380 Plaza Loop Building E Suite e 350-02 2nd Floor is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for applicants to apply for jobs. There are 50 positions available including part-time and full time.
