The search continues for a local national guardsman who jumped into the Red River Thursday night.

Members of the Bossier Parish and Caddo Parish Marine units have been out on the Red River, looking for 22 year old Desmond Desdunes.

He and 19 year old Joshua Miller jumped off a railroad bridge into the water. Authorities say Miller swam to shore with Desdunes, and when he turned around, Desdunes had gone under.

Deputies will continue to look until 9 pm Saturday and then start again Sunday.

Miller was given a summons for trespassing Saturday afternoon. The railroad bridge is privately owned, and authorities said it is illegal to jump off it and walk across it.
