The Shreveport Fire Department will target the Historic Highland Community in the first smoke alarm campaign of 2014.

On Saturday, May 17 40 firefighters and community volunteers will go door-to-door to install smoke alarms and distribute fire safety literature to residents.

The grass roots "Take it to the Streets" fire safety campaign has been successful installing an average of 800 FREE smoke alarms per year over the past three years.

If you or someone you know needs a smoke alarm, contact the Fire Prevention office at (318) 673-6740.
