Shreveport Police investigate a shooting involving a security officer at the Shreveport Regional Airport.

Just after 10pm Tuesday, Shreveport Police officers were sent to the airport after a call came in about a shooting involving a member of the airport's security force.

About the same time that call came in, police also got a call from a cab driver reporting an airport security officer had shot out one of the tires of his cab.

When they arrived, officers detained the cab driver and contacted airport personnel.

Investigators were immediately notified and went to the scene.

Detectives believe there was some sort of dispute between the cab driver and an on-duty airport security officer.

Shreveport Police say the report states the driver drove off, but soon came back and allegedly drove towards the officer.

That's when the officer fired a shot striking the vehicle's front passenger side tire.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are looking at surveillance video at the airport.

The cab driver, who is not being charged with a crime at this time, was released and the involved airport employee has been placed on administrative leave with pay while the investigation into this matter continues.
