This Saturday, the 2014 Walk MS: Shreveport will take place at the Louisiana Boardwalk.

MS, or Multiple Sclerosis, is a disease of the Central Nervous System that interrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body.

The walk, which will begin at 8am, will help raise funds for research and local programs. Registration is at 7am.

Teresa Willis, the Walk MS Committee Chair, came and spoke with NBC 6's Dan Jovic about the 4th annual walk.

Most of the funds raised will stay here in the state of Louisiana.

Vendors, doctors and other facilities will be present at the Boardwalk to meet and speak with people looking for more information.

For more information and to register, visit the 2014 Walk MS: Shreveport website.
