Cole Vosbury was one of the first two vocalists Voice host Carson Daly tonight announced had been saved by America this week. The other artist was Austin Jenckes. Both are members of country music star Blake Shelton's team.
Cole's mother, grandmother and aunt say they weren't nervous before the announcement was made, they were just overwhelmed with excitement, because they all had a feeling Cole was going to make the cut.
"Scared to death, excited and just really having the feeling that he was going to do it, but you know, you always have that doubt in your mind and that's how I felt,” says Lari Vosbury, Cole’s mom. “But I was excited and scared."
"The roof 'bout came off the place in here,” says Rhonda Griffis, Cole’s aunt. “We scared all of the other patrons. They didn't know what was going on. They thought maybe a gun or something, I don't know. I mean, they jumped."
Shelton's artists opened the show tonight with their rendition of "Free Ride." In addition to Vosbury and Jenckes, other artists were Nic Hawk, Shelbie Z, and Ray Boudreaux.
Shelton had to make the tough decision as to who else would be advancing to represent him in the Top 12, and selected Ray Boudreaux to join Vosbury and Jenckes in next week's live shows, only on NBC 6.
That means Cole will continue to count on votes from the ArkLaTex and across America.
