Authorities are trying to track down the person who shot an employee while trying to rob a business in Bowie County.

The robbery happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Triple J in the 4600 block of South Lake Dr.

Juliann Nouri told detectives she was closing the store when a young man came in asking to buy a cigar.

Nouri said the suspect pulled out a gun after she asked for his identification.  Then the suspect told her to open the drawer and when she responded to his demands he shot her and fled on foot.

The bullet passed through the left side of Nouri's waist.  She was transported to Christus St. Michael's Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Investigator Will Buttram at (903) 628-6815 or Crime Stoppers at (903) 793-7867.
