It goes from 11am-1:30pm on Saturday, May, 10th.
Participants may taste foods of the local restaurants and experience the diverse taste that made up early Texarkana cultures.
This year's theme for Arkansas Heritage Month is "Come to the Table: Celebrating the Flavors of Arkansas."
Main Street Texarkana and the Texarkana Museums System are presenting the downtown tasting with local restaurants providing a sampling of two foods from their current menu.
An exhibit will also be on display at each location describing the original business and history of each building.
Texarkana had a diverse beginning with several different cultures creating a melting pot of foods.
"Texarkana had several ethnic origins," said Jamie Simmons, curator of the Texarkana Museums System. "Because Texarkana was a Reconstruction town, people came from all over the world. We have many of those cultures represented today among the downtown restaurants,".
This is a great opportunity to taste a variety of foods in a progressive dining experience while the local restaurants get to showcase some of their favorite menu items.
Restaurants include: Joe's Pizza and Pasta, Hopkin's Ice House, Zapata's, TLC, Chef Zoe's, Circle L Farms Chuckwagon, and soon-to-open, Pecan Point Brew Pub with Julie's Deli.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Adults are $10 and children at $5.
Tickets may be bought at the Museum of Regional History, 219 North State Line Avenue, or by calling 903-793-4831.
In conjunction with the "Downtown Cultural Dining" tasting, the Texarkana Museums System is presenting an exhibit on the History of Downtown Dining at the Ahern House Museum, 402 Lauren Street, Texarkana, Arkansas.
The exhibit will feature historic photographs, early cookbooks, and menus from restaurants of early Texarkana.
Visitors can test their culinary knowledge of essential antique cooking tools and pickup early family recipes.
Admission to the Ahern House Museum is free.
