Planting and gardening can be a bit of a challenge. However, a local nursery is doing what they can to help you grow your skills.
NBC 6's Jade Cunningham met with Louisiana Nursery Co-Owner Kim Liles Wednesday morning.
Liles is hosting a free class to the public this Saturday (April 12th, 2014) to anyone interested in learning about the art of container gardening.
There are nine steps that will help you be successful at gardening.
First, choose a 'Theme', meaning if you want to plant herbs, flowers, multiple containers, color, etc.
Liles showed viewers two themes: plants that attract hummingbirds and ones that make mosquitos go away.
To find out what plants help, watch the video above.
The class will be going on at Louisiana Nursery starting at 9am.
The class, soil, fertilizer are all free.
People can either bring their own pots or buy some there.
Those who attend can also bring their own plants, or buy plants at the nursery as well.
