You can help fight a debilitating disease by showing off your skills in a special fishing tournament.

The Ark-La-Tex Sports Foundation has partnered with the ALS Association and local ALS Advocates, Jimmy and Mickie Roberts, for a Bass Fishing Tournament called "Lou Gehrig's Disease can Kiss my Bass."

The tournament will be held from 6:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at Grice's Landing in Ringgold, LA. Tournament registration begins at 5 a.m. There will be hourly weigh-ins and at 2 p.m. there will be an official awards ceremony.

Entry fee is $35 per person or $70 for a two man team.

The proceeds of the Lou Gehrig's Disease Can Kiss My Bass Tournament will benefit the Ark-La-Tex Sports Foundation as well as the ALS Association and will help raise funds to sustain patient care and support cutting-edge research.
