Shreveport Police are seeking answers following a shooting that wounded a local man Monday afternoon in west Shreveport.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on June 23, 2014, Shreveport Police were called to the 3600 block of Huston Street relative to reports of a reported shooting.
Information received from the caller advised a red, four door vehicle drove down east bound on Huston street and began firing indiscriminately, striking multiple homes, a car, along with an adult male victim who was standing outside when the shooting occurred.
The man, whose name has not been released, was transported via ambulance to University Health Medical Center where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the back. The man, who was last listed in fair condition is expected to recover.
Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives were notified of the incident, launching an immediate investigation. Preliminary information has gathered few specifics as to what may have led to the shooting: however, authorities do not suspect the shooting to be a random act.
The vehicle suspected in the crime was said to have been occupied by at least two or more males wearing masks over their faces. Shreveport Police Crime Scene personnel were able to gather evidence on the scene indicating multiple rounds from a small caliber weapon were fired. No additional persons were injured during the shooting.
Authorities are working at this hour to gather additional details surrounding the shooting and unmasking the identities of the alleged shooter or shooters.
