Numbered Air Forces and Field Operating Agencies, Air Force Global Strike Command will realign approximately 166 authorizations command-wide.
According to Col. Edward Ford, Air Force Global Strike Command Personnel Director for the active-duty military and civilian personnel at Barksdale, there is expected to be minimal to no impact. The command's leadership is committed to ensuring this current readjustment initiative remains transparent to Air Force Global Strike Command personnel.
Air Force Global Strike has gone through many reorganization and even reduction initiatives in the past, and all have been completed without a large loss of personnel. We are confident this current realignment will be managed with the same level of stability.
In the future, the Air Force must become more efficient and streamlined, while still providing the capabilities the nation needs. This means our workforce and installations of the future will look and operate differently. However, we remain committed to providing our Airmen and their families the installation and mission support they deserve.
