Border Debate Continues

President Obama speaks in Texas as Senate begins debate on emergency fund request to help handle the influx of children at the border. Steve Handelsman reports.

 President Obama lashed out at Congressional Republicans Thursday, calling them hypocritical for blaming him for the border crisis while refusing to vote on an immigration reform bill that has already passed the Senate.

The remarks came as Mr. Obama spoke before an enthusiastic audience in Austin, Texas.

Meanwhile, House Speaker John Boehner emphatically blamed President Obama for the surge of young, unaccompanied Central American immigrants arriving at the U.S. border.

Speaking to reporters, Boehner said he expects the house to approve some form of emergency legislation this month to help deal with the crisis, but added that President Obama won't get a "blank check" on his $3.7 billion request.
