Bossier City honored the Bossier Police Departments longest serving employee, Pam Simek by proclaiming September 1st as Pam Simek day in Bossier.

Simek was hired as a part time file clerk in 1974, her senior year of high school.

Simek moved on to secretary of the Investigations Division where she stayed for 21 years before becoming secretary to the Police Chief.

Simek said working in the police department has been "a wild and crazy ride. Just four decades of anything and everything you can think of."
