The ACLU is accusing Bossier Sheriff, Julian Whittington, of violating the separation of church and state by holding the 'In God We Trust' Rally on public property.
"It's part of what we do. It's part of what our country was founded on. It's in our national anthem. It's on our money. It's in my oath I take as a sheriff, the last words I say are 'So help me God'. I don't know why all the sudden we need to hide or dodge or run away from it", said Whittington.
The 'In God We Trust' Rally is Friday July 4th from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Sheriff Substation on Viking Road in Bossier.
