The commencement will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24 inside the Health & Physical Education Complex on BPCC's campus.
Seventeen graduates will receive both a 12-hour Technical Competency Area credential and C4M certificate making them eligible for interviews with area industry partners.
In partnership with Louisiana Economic Development FastStart, BPCC's C4M program helps interested students train for new manufacturing jobs within the area.
BPCC Chancellor Jim Henderson said, "It's a new day in manufacturing. Today's employers need employees with advanced skills. They need problem solvers and trouble shooters. They need employees who have savvy computer, programming and mechatronic skills. These graduates are now equipped with these advanced skills and will enter the workforce better prepared with this state-recognized, industry certification."
In addition to the C4M graduates, credentials will be awarded to a total of 136 graduates during the Thursday's ceremony. Associate degrees, technical diplomas, certificates, and technical competency areas in each of BPCC's six academic divisions Behavioral-Social Sciences and College Transition Programs; Business; Communication and Performing Arts; Liberal Arts; Science, Nursing, and Allied Health; and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics will be awarded.
BPCC is also honored to host retiring NSU President Dr. Randall Webb as guest speaker for the 67th commencement.
