The Carolinas are keeping a watchful eye on Tropical Storm Arthur as the storm pushes north.  Sarah Dallof reports.

Residents and vacationers along the East Coast are keeping a wary eye on Tropical Storm Arthur.

The storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane before skirting the OuterBbanks of North Carolina on the Fourth of July.

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory is warning people not to become complacent.

"While the current forecast does not indicate this will be a major impact, we are taking this storm very seriously and I ask that all coastal residents and visitors do the same," he said Wednesday.

The storm will generate dangerous rip currents, a recipe for disaster on this crowded Fourth of July week.

"People make poor decisions. they don't heed the warnings of the emergency service individuals and we will have to get wet. We will be pulling people out," says Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue Director Dave Bager.
