A Shreveport man continues to incur criminal charges in the wake of an ongoing investigation into a series of thefts from local convenience stores spanning a two month period.

Erol Walter 33, previously arrested last Sunday (July 27, 2014) on unrelated charges, has since been linked to five separate thefts from local businesses.

Information and evidence obtained from Shreveport Police detectives have linked Walter to the May 14th theft of several cartons of cigarettes from the Circle K in the 6200 block of Pines Road along with addition to two other thefts that occurred at Circle K stores in the 1900 block of Centenary Boulevard and the 8500 block of Youree Drive on May 4 and June 24, respectively.

During the May 4 theft, surveillance video captured Walter stealing more than $200 dollars worth of beer from the business.

Friday (August 1, 2014), authorities additionally linked Walter to two cigarette thefts from the Tobacco World store located in the 7000 block of Pines Road on May 7 and July 11.

During each theft, video shows Walter entering the business and blatantly stealing multiple cartons of tobacco products before exiting the building with his stash.

In all, Walter's alleged thefts have cost local businesses nearly $2,000 in lost merchandise.  Walter, who is currently jailed at the Caddo Correctional Center, has been charged with multiple counts of Theft of goods.  Due to the value of the items stolen, Walter's charges are felonies.
