The meeting will take place between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, July 14 inside the Red River Room at the Shreveport Convention Center.
This is the first of at least three opportunities for you to learn about this project and offer input about the direction the redevelopment of this important downtown site.
The interactive session will provide information about the project and allow for direct interaction with the project team tasked with shaping an overall vision for this historic site.
The Great Expectations Shreveport-Caddo Master Plan highlights the Cross Bayou site for eventual redevelopment that would create a new, mixed-use residential neighborhood while ensuring public waterfront access and connectivity to downtown and adjacent neighborhoods.
Mayor Cedric Glover said, "The is one of the many steps we have taken toward implementation of the Master Plan since its inception in 2009 and subsequent adoption of the plan in 2011. It is my hope that citizens will continue to be a part of the process as we continue to move the Master Plan from a set of ideas to actions."
The redevelopment of Cross Bayou will take into account the historic nature of the site, which contains the Waterworks Museum and is the site of a Civil War-era Confederate shipyard, as well as its close proximity to the Central Business District.
