Less than four hours remain in the first ever Give for Good online giving campaign. So, more than $800,000 has been donated to 77 local non-profits. The Community Foundation of North Louisiana created the 24 hour event. It ends at midnight.

Donors have to go to There, they can select the organization or organizations they'd wish to help, and enter an amount and their payment information.

As of 7:50 p.m., more than 3,307 donations were made, with a grand total of $824, 891 raised. Holy Angel's was in the lead, with more than $125,000 collected, followed by Sci Port: Louisiana's Science Center, with slight more than $104,000 collected.

All day, various organizations held events. During the lunch hour, some were not well attended, but that didn't stop the donations from flowing in.

Every hour, the non-profits received prizes and bonus funds. That money came from corporate sponsors whom donated  $250,000 to the Lagniappe Fund.

Organizers got the idea from Dallas, and felt it was the perfect way to celebrate the first Community Foundation's 100th anniversary. Organizers said it's also a way to attract younger donors, and to provide local non-profits with unrestricted funds.

The non-profits registered to participate, and also had to be in compliance with IRS standards before they were allowed to be a part of the event.
