Mayor Cedric Glover is inviting you to meet and provide feedback to consultants assigned to study the area and develop strategies to revitalize downtown Shreveport.

The six-member team will spend all of next week, arriving on Sunday and departing on Friday, meeting with elected officials, planners, business owners and members of the public interested in offering ideas to boost the city's downtown appearance.

Last year the city was awarded a technical assistance grant through the American Planning Association's Community Planning Assistance Team. The grant will utilize APA experts to assist in the strategic efforts to revitalize Shreveport's downtown, using the Shreveport-Caddo Great Expectations 2030 master plan as a guide.

The CPAT will focus on improving walkability and transportation options in the downtown area. A comprehensive approach to recommend ways to provide access to both new development and renovations as well as proposals to adaptive reuses of historic spaces will also be discussed.
