DNA evidence solves cold case burglary

Authorities are looking for an accused burglar after DNA evidence linked him to a vehicle burglary in Shreveport's South Highlands neighborhood. 

The burglary happened back on April 19, 2011in the 4100 block of Richmond Ave.

The victim told officers a suspect entered an unlocked vehicle parked in front of her home and stole miscellaneous items.

Investigators recovered a cloth rag from the interior of the vehicle that was allegedly left by the suspect and it was sent to the North Louisiana Crime Lab for analysis.

The evidence linked Timmy Davis, 43, to the burglary.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant charging Davis with one count of simple burglary. He has also been charged with other burglaries in Shreveport.
