The Bossier City Police Department is teaming up with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to keep those who are under the age of 21 from drinking and driving.

Through the entire month of April the BCPD DWI Task Force will beef up patrols to keep young drivers safe during this season of proms and graduations.

According to the National Highway Safety Commission, motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death among teens in the US and nearly one-third of those crashes are alcohol-related.

The BCPD DWI Task Force patrols are funded in part by grant money provide by the LHSC.
