A Sabine Parish man is facing charges for allegedly stabbing his son on Father's Day.

Thomas Shoemaker, 46, of Many, is accused of stabbing his 21-year-old son Sunday during an altercation.

Shoemaker admitted to investigators that he stabbed his son because he had jumped on him.

Shoemaker's son was transported to University Health where he is currently in fair condition.

Shoemaker was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center for aggravated second degree battery.
