Fugitive captured for military desertion

A woman wanted by the U.S. Army for desertion is now in police custody.

Bossier City Police arrested Desilee Atkins, 18, of Amarillo, Texas Thursday at the Red River Inn in the 1600 block of East Texas St.

Atkins was apprehended during an undercover prostitution investigation but was not charged.  However a woman Atkins accompanied to Bossier City, Berkley Bartosiewicz, 20, of Amarillo, Texas was arrested on a charge of prostitution.

Atkins was wanted for desertion from Fort Knox, Kentucky.  She was booked into the Bossier City Jail and will be placed in the custody of military authorities.
