A teenager is recovering after someone fired shots at a park in west Shreveport.

The shooting happened shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday at Bilberry Park in the 3000 block of Lakeshore Dr.

Investigators believe two groups of people were involved in a dispute when someone left the park following the argument and returned with a gun firing several shots.

A 14-year-old was taken to Willis-Knighton Medical Center and treated for shrapnel wounds to his elbow and leg.

Investigators also found numerous cartridge casings on the basketball court along with a small bag of suspected marijuana.

Anyone with any information about this shooting is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
