You will not be allowed to use the public boat launches on the Red River in Caddo and Bossier Parishes due to excessive rainfall.

Officials with the Red River Waterway Commission announced the closures on Wednesday.
The affected boat launches include:
  • Teague Parkway facility in Bossier City
  • Stoner Ave. facility in Shreveport
  • North Caddo/Bossier facility at the Hwy 2 bridge between Plain Dealing and Hosston
  • Bishop Point facility south of Shreveport on Hwy 1 at Lock & Dam No. 5

Rainfall in the Red River watershed has resulted in a minor rise on the Red River and launching a boat into the river without the use of a dock is not recommended.

People wishing to access the river are advised to contact the private marinas for current launching conditions.

Boat ramps are expected to re-open as soon as conditions are deemed safe for public use by the Commission.
