The New Boston High School student accused of killing a fellow football player pleaded not guilty Monday in Bowie County, Texas, District Court.

A Bowie County grand jury indicted 18-year-old Aaron Conkleton on a charge of criminally negligent homicide in the August shooting of Sema-j Williams at a New Boston car wash.

Criminally negligent homicide is the least murder charge in Texas. It is punishable by six months to two years in prison.
