Horseshoe Casino was full of people Tuesday, not looking for slot machines, but for jobs.

The Shreveport-Bossier Women’s and Minority Career Expo was held there from 10 a.m. until 2 .pm.

More than 50 employers were there as well as representatives from several universities.

Job seekers say the expo came right on time.

"I recently lost my job last Wednesday actually. They had budget cuts and the last one hired , first one fired,” said Shunta Davis.

"I've been filling out applications back and forth and nobody calls. That's why I'm at this job fair,” said Tavia Bailey.

The expo was sponsored by Horseshoe Casino & Hotel, Harrah's Louisiana Downs, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce and Goodwill Industries.
