Job growth: Better than ever

Nearly 300,000 jobs were added in April and unemployment dips to 6.3 percent. Tracie Potts reports.

The government has released its jobs report for April, and it was better than economists expected.

288,000 new jobs were added in April, tens of thousands more than economists predicted. In addtion, 36,000 more jobs not counted in February and March were added to those monthly totals.

The number of people who've been jobless for six months or more dropped significantly as well.

The unemployment rate is now down to 6.3 percent.

"I think we will find out that momentum is pretty good in the 2nd quarter," says Jim Paulsen of Wells Capital Management.
