If you do not have health insurance, and are struggling to fulfill your prescriptions, a local non-profit is here to help you.

The Northwest Louisiana Interfaith Pharmacy gives people medications for free every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.  Its clients suffer from heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Its executive director Janet Martin said 75 percent of its clients are younger than 65, and are on disability or working minimum wage jobs. Many of the clients also attend its healthy living class.

They receive fresh vegetables for attending. The pharmacy has seen an increase in the past 18 months in clients who have lost their jobs and need help.

You can contact the non-profit by calling (318) 425-3553.
