Man injured in overnight shooting in Shreveport

A local man is recovering after being shot overnight in west Shreveport. Just before midnight on Saturday, Shreveport Police were called to the 2700 block of Randolph Street.

20 year old Elijah Gibbs had a single gunshot wound to the thigh. Gibbs was transported to University Health with non life-threatening injuries.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Detectives responded to the scene of the shooting launching an investigation. Information was gathered that suggested Gibbs was shot while he and a family member were walking home in the 2700 block of Randolph Street when two men started shooting at them.

The suspects, whose identities are unknown at this time, reportedly fled the scene of the shooting on foot.
