A Minden High School football player is counting his blessings. He survived a horrific accident Sunday afternoon.

Kaerington Wilson underwent surgery Monday morning at University Health. He has a broken arm, and minor bruises.

Minden Police said Wilson was driving on I-20 westbound, just before exit 47, when his Cadillac Escalade hydroplaned, hit two guardrails, flipped over a creek, and then landed in the grass.

Authorities believe the heavy rain contributed to the crash. Wilson's mother said he was on his way to sing at a church when the accident happened.
